Clarence City Council, Tasmania, has transitioned to the innovative mobile software solution of OneCouncil.
This work management mobility platform allows for the streamlining of business processes, improves the management of financial data, and delivers instant access to real time information to council workers in the field.
Incorporating the unique strategic requirements of Local Government, the software supports the day-to-day operations of council.
With real time information, any time and on any device, council officers are now able to be less reactive and more strategic in their approach to asset management and operations.
For the first time, field teams can update asset details from mobile devices with purpose built mobile applications designed to operate even when disconnected from a network.
The City’s Tree Crew have reported significant time saving benefits of this feature, which allows them to access spatial information and new work orders without having to return to the depot, and the improved safety advantages of being able to access up to date Safe Work Method Statements in the field.
Alongside the improvements to community planning practices and asset management are the fiscal advantages. With the implementation of OneCouncil the council has been able to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and streamline processes through end-to-end management of council operations.
By aligning corporate and operational goals the council has been able to simplify strategic planning processes and integrate plans into their day-to-day business operations.
The improved financial data enables a more sophisticated model of demand and reliability, thereby giving aldermen and management the ability to forward budget.
Clarence Mayor, Doug Chipman, said, “Once you have better data, you are able to make better decisions. With the implementation of OneCouncil we have been able to more deeply evaluate and enrich the way we deliver services to the community.”
