At the City of Armadale, the PRINTHUB has grown into an example of resource sharing that offers professional-grade print services to councils across Western Australia while strengthening financial sustainability in-house.

PRINTHUB is the City of Armadale’s in-house print service, equipped with commercial digital production printers and large-format technology. What began as an internal service specifically for the printing of agendas and minutes has evolved into a revenue-generating operation supporting multiple WA Local Governments, including the City of Canning, Town of Victoria Park, City of Belmont, City of Kalamunda, Shire of Mundaring and Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.

With an easy-to-use online ordering system, users can place requests anytime, get live quotes, and track their jobs from start to finish, with every job managed by commercially trained print specialists.

Over the past four years, demand has grown significantly. Internal print requests have risen by 59 per cent, while external requests have increased by 347 per cent, generating $125,170 in revenue in the 2024/25 financial year. This growth directly offsets leasing costs for the City’s digital production printers, strengthening long-term sustainability and demonstrating the value of shared resources.
