The Certificate in Corporate Investigations, conducted by the University of Western Sydney, is specifically designed for people who, as part of their employment, undertake workplace inquiries or investigations. In particular the course is suitable for people who may become involved in disciplinary inquiries, fraud investigations and compliance.
Participants learn the rules and procedures for the collection and documentation of information that will be used to determine the merits of a complaint or decide a dispute.
An emphasis is placed on the development of interviewing skills to teach participants to take witness statements and conduct respondent interviews. It is designed to meet the needs of both inexperienced and experienced investigators with experienced investigators benefiting from learning contemporary techniques, and persons recent to investigations developing a solid skill base.
The course is accredited as a subject at degree level and may, if considered relevant, be eligible as credit in other university award courses. Successful completion of the assessment is recognised through a Certificate of Attainment issued by the University.
Participants may complete the course through either workshop or distance education mode. The workshop is conducted over five days at the Bankstown campus in Sydney, while distance education involves the completion of study and assessment tasks within a set timeframe.
Fees are $1,190 ($990 for bookings of three or more) for the workshop and $850 for distance education.
