The City of Canada Bay, the first amalgamated metropolitan Council in NSW in the current reform process, has selected the AXS-One Enterprise solution to integrate and streamline the work practices and financial data of the two merged Councils. In addition, the new system will provide Council with eCommerce and Business Intelligence capabilities both considered vital to the future of the new, larger Council.
The City of Canada Bay was proclaimed on 1 December 2000 with the merging of Concord and Drummoyne Councils.
“Canada Bay’s business approach is to introduce a more competitive, efficient and effective working environment and to provide a value added customer service to the ratepayers and public,” said General Manager, Lea Rosser. “We intend to make this a model Council by using technology to add value to our core business.”
Finance Manager at Canada Bay Council, Mark Wohlfiel, said that the new financial management system had to meet some very specific requirements including the workflow management of business processes; a superior management reporting function; and a seamless interface to other systems, especially human resource management and land information systems.
“AXS-One meets all these requirements and more,” he said.
AXS-One has also been selected by a number of amalgamated Councils following Victoria’s restructure process.
