Panasonic announces new portable projectors including advanced wireless unit

Panasonic has announced significant additions to its portable LCD projector lineup, including a new wireless unit with advanced capabilities. The new projectors include the PT-L730NTE 802.11b-compliant wireless model and the PT-L720E XGA and PT-L520E SVGA units, all with super bright, high contrast data and video quality.

The PT-L730NTE allows for easy set up and continuous cable free presentations from multiple PCs. Users install an optional wireless LAN card in their notebook PC, and can then transmit data from the PC to the projector’s Secure Digital (SD) Memory Card.

This process uses the industry leading Wi-Fi™ (IEEE 802.11b) Wireless Networking transmission protocol standard, at a transfer rate of 11 Mbps over a 100 metre distance.

In addition, all the PT-L730’s key functions – picture quality, volume, inputs, lamp power and lamp run time – can be controlled remotely and status monitored via a PC’s browser menu.

With the need for cabling eliminated, users have the freedom to install the projector anywhere. The PT-L730NTE is supplied standard with Wireless Manager and Image Creator control software, an IEEE 802.11b-compliant wireless LAN card, and an 8MB SD Memory Card. The PT-L730NTE weighs four kilogram and offers excellent brightness of 2,200 ANSI lumens, a high contrast ratio of 400:1 and a native resolution of 1204 x 768 XGA.

The projector offers two mode lamp operation – Standard or Save – with a lamp life in the Save mode at 3,000 hours. The model is equipped with a large diameter, extra short throw lens, which allows 80 inch diagonal images from a 2.5 metre distance.
