Specialist Local Government consulting firm, iPlatinum Pty Ltd, has introduced a software solution to streamline and automate strategic planning for Local Government. Known as OutcomeManager, this solution allows the customised development and implementation of plans, projects and programs aligned to strategic organisational goals and operational service level agreements.
Penrith City Council, to Sydney’s west, is the first Council to implement OutcomeManager. It selected the solution after a rigorous tender process.
“Using OutcomeManager a council can build and deliver corporate plans to the broadest possible range of users in browser based and hosted application environments, all with unmatched ease of use and scalability,” said iPlatinum Chief Executive, Mike Preedy. “The end result is higher business value and better use of all Council’s information sources.”
OutcomeManager is designed to address the issues most likely to challenge Local Government executives. These are to ensure that the strategic direction behind the planning is correct; implementation follows the required timing, management and budget schedule; management reporting on outcomes is regular and accurate; the organisation’s performance is assessed regularly against Key Performance Indicators; and good performance of managers is recognised and rewarded.
The main strengths of the software include tight integration and automation of the bidding and budgeting phase during the preparation and approval of draft plans; management of change control and the implementation process; and progress reporting of projects, performance assessment of ongoing services and associated roll up reporting.
Names and terminology can be customised and the software can be configured for long range plans of up to 20 years, rolling three or four year business plans, recurrent services and discretionary or strategic initiatives.
OutcomeManager has been awarded a certificate of achievement in innovation by AusIndustry, and this was presented by Ian Macfarlane MP, the Federal Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources.
