Councils extend eCommerce

A number of local Councils have taken advantage of the latest technology through new functionality within AXS-One’s Enterprise financial solution, extending their existing business and financial applications with collaborative commerce and business performance monitoring. The enhanced AXS-One Enterprise financial applications allow Councils to quickly leverage new technologies, such as web services, XML, and more, to effectively address changing Local Government needs and resident demands.

The City of Canada Bay’s implementation of the AXS-One Enterprise solution in 2002 enabled the efficient integration and streamlining of work practices and financial data from two Councils that had merged to form Canada Bay in 2000. It provides Council with eCommerce and business intelligence capabilities, both considered vital for the future.

Whitehorse City Council was one of the first to endorse eCommerce capabilities by implementing AXS-One’s eProcurement solution, TransAXS Procurement. The system has significantly reduced the cost of processing orders.

City of Hobsons Bay has realised the benefits of AXS-OneView, a business intelligence system for corporate reporting that provides key operational and performance statistics across multiple systems and platforms. It combines all Council data into decision ready information for high performance analysis, slice and dice and drill down to the detail for publishing across the web.

“This investment in software, installation and training will have paid for itself in the first six months,” said Michael Govan, Hobsons Bay Information Services Manager. “How did this happen? What once required eight hours of our time to generate a management report now takes us five minutes! We’re extremely happy with the flow on effects of OneView and the measurable impact that it is having on our organisation’s KPI’s.”

AXS-One has been committed to delivering state of the art solutions for Local Government for over 10 years and continuously offers new features and functionality to address ever changing needs.
