With a vision for staff to move beyond their desks and out into the community, Mitchell Shire Council is paving the way for local councils to adopt cloud-based technologies.
The Council has engaged Australian IT Company, Cloud Solutions Group (CSG), to assist with the transformation of their ageing IT infrastructure.
Specialising in the integration of on premise IT environments with cloud-based systems, CSG worked closely with the Council to create a more stable IT environment that can accommodate future expansion.
Council’s outdated IT infrastructure was making its systems difficult to improve, however CSG’s new solution will make it easier to implement leading-edge technologies.
CSG’s solutions will provide:
- centralisation and consolidation of IT services
- increased performance and high availability
- automated disaster recovery of mission critical systems
- enhanced user experience and increases in productivity
- flexible work styles that enable staff to work from any location.
Importantly, the solution being implemented is driven by meeting business needs and providing greater flexibility for staff so they can move beyond their desks and spend more time in the community.
Council’s Manager Information Services, Angelo Luczek said “Rather than just simply refreshing existing systems, there is a strategic focus on building a foundation that can dynamically adapt to changing business requirements.
“Combining modular infrastructure that can scale with the business and a push to enable mobility throughout the organisation, the Council is well placed to ensure the best possible IT service portfolio is available to service staff and the community.
“This is highlighted by the new capability, which enables staff to work from home or on the road, with access to their desktop and applications whenever needed.”
In partnership with CSG, Mitchell Shire Council Information Services are looking to further improve their IT Service Catalogue on their journey to the Cloud.
