BMW’s iPerformance range continues to grow with the arrival of the BMW 530e iPerformance plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
BMW Australia is proud to confirm that pricing for the 530e iPerformance reflects that of the 530i – the first time pricing parity has been achieved with its traditionally-powered equivalent in the BMW range.
As such, the BMW 530e iPerformance sedan is priced from $108,900.
As part of BMW’s investment in future mobility, the 530e adds a fifth variant to the newly-launched 5 Series range, and a fourth to an iPerformance fleet that already features the 330e, the X5 xDrive40e, and the 740e.
The 530e is a cleaner and greener 5 Series, using the latest in plug-in hybrid technology coupling efficiency with performance. It’s powered by a 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 135kW and 290Nm of torque, while the electric motor produces a further 83kW and an instantaneous 250Nm of torque.
That means combined performance figures of 185kW of power, and 420Nm of torque, with a 0-100km/h time of 6.2 seconds. The numbers are equally impressive on the efficiency side. The 530e can travel 43 kilometres on battery power alone, and on the combined cycle uses just 2.3L/100km and emits 53g/km of CO2.
The BMW 530e iPerformance is equipped with an impressive standard specification, based on the price-equivalent 530i, along with the additional iPerformance benefits and the plug-in hybrid technology, without a bigger price tag. More performance, more efficiency, same price.
