Fresh perspective on engaging communities*

The practice of community and stakeholder engagement continues to evolve and expand, and the International Association of Public Participation (Australasia) Conference is the key event for engagement and communications professionals to be updated on the latest developments and to share learnings with other engagement practitioners.

This year, the conference will be held on the sunny Gold Coast in October.

With a theme of ‘Shake it Up!’ the conference will present a fresh perspective on community and stakeholder engagement practice over two and a half days, with a focus on future and alternative thinking, engaging with First Nations and diverse communities, risk and outrage management, and the decision-makers’ perspective.

Sessions on youth engagement, behaviour change, tech tools and the emerging digital engagement landscape will also be on offer.
There will be keynote presentations, interactive and experiential workshops, master classes, learning labs and of course the presentation of the Core Values Awards at the conference gala dinner, where projects demonstrating exceptional engagement practice are recognised.

The conference will bring together engagement practitioners, community development practitioners, communications and marketing professionals and academics to explore the practice of engagement, and is generally attended by delegates from both the private and public sector, across a diversity of industries and regions in Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN countries.

All are welcome to attend – both IAP2 Australasia members and non-members. The event will be held at the stunning InterContinental Sanctuary Cove from 23-25 October. Special conference accommodation rates are available.
