Facilities upgrade for better service

Indoor garden wall adds natural light to the library’s reading and study space.

Mosman Council, New South Wales, recently completed a program of major refurbishment to its offices and facilities.

The project included critical works and improvements to the Mosman Civic Centre and its neighbouring community facilities, the Barry O’Keefe Library, Mosman Youth Centre and Mosman Seniors Centre.

The five-month project was delivered on time and on budget and provides councillors and staff with improved work spaces, and residents with improved services.

The Barry O’Keefe library upgrade included the addition of a new area on the lower ground floor with long vertical windows and an indoor garden wall, to create a tranquil new reading and study space with more natural light and a living green backdrop.

The civic centre’s customer service foyer was refurbished to be more modern and comfortable, and offer improved facilities. It now features a welcome desk to greet people and direct them with their enquiries, a comfortable seating area with complimentary coffee facilities if people have to wait, and self-service internet kiosks for customers to search information, view documents and complete
online forms.
