Sports field renovation is for the long term*

The concept of renovating a sports fi eld or oval can be daunting – where to start, who to speak to.

Perhaps you have several groups of stakeholders who will all be involved in the decision- making?

You will obviously want the best outcomes for the site – and the best outcomes should be long-term.

It is important to look at the condition of the soil first.

Has it received chemical fertilisers in the past which have caused a level of toxicity which should be addressed?

Is the soil capable of sustaining good turf growth which will, in turn, be capable of coping with drought conditions and high-wear?

Is the soil surface uneven?

Will excess rainfall run off or will it pool and cause further issues with soil quality/ salinity?

Has the irrigation system been designed and installed to provide optimum precipitation rates across the site?

These are just a few of the issues that will need to be addressed.

And it’s important to ensure that you’re talking to the right people, with the right answers.

Excessive top-dressing (with sand???), and the spreading of toxic chemicals across the site – is not the only answer.

Give Greene Eden a call – we can provide the long-term best outcomes.

The soil profi le will be in better condition, the site will be level, the irrigation system will be Industry Standard – and the turf will be the best it’s ever been.
