Lockyer announce Scott Greensill as CEO

Lockyer Valley Regional Council has appointed Scott Greensill as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Councillors formally approved the appointment of Mr Greensill at a Special Meeting of Council in February.

Mayor Tanya Milligan said Mr Greensill stood out as the preferred candidate from a large field of contenders.

“We had 71 applicants apply for the position, which is quite remarkable and a testament to the organisation and the exciting opportunities our thriving region offers,” she said.

“We went into this looking for a highly experienced local government CEO who would provide the sort of stability and leadership our Council is accustomed to, and Scott ticked all those boxes.

“He is highly regarded, has more than 40 years’ experience in local government and is a well-measured and skilled CEO.

“He is formally qualified and holds a Bachelor of Business and MBA and will guide the organisation to ensure our good governance and financial stability continues.”

Mayor Milligan said Mr Greensill would move into the CEO role effective immediately on a four-year contract.

“Scott stepped into the Interim CEO role in December last year following Ian Church’s early retirement, and we now look forward to working with him on a permanent basis,” she said.

“Scott has been residing temporarily in the Lockyer Valley while under the Interim CEO arrangements and will move here permanently, which is something we both strongly agreed was necessary to do the job well.”
