When Western Australia went into lockdown as part of the COVID-19 response, the Shire of Upper Gascoyne, one of the most remote local government areas in the country, created a COVID care-package for each household located within the Shire Boundary.
The packs contained a selection of fruit and vegetables, a cookbook, hand sanitiser, a take 5 pack for parents – complete with coffee, tea, sugar, biscuits, chocolate and lollies, colouring books with textas, craft kits, a family board game, and a swag off information about where people could access mental health, family support services, drug and alcohol and financial assistance information
and pamphlets.
