Kimba DC Implements the MAGIQ Cloud Platform*

Kimba District Council is a rural service town on the Eyre Highway at the top of Eyre Peninsula in the state of South Australia.

The town is well known for its tourist attractions including the Big Galah, a sculpture of Edward John Eyre and Wylie, the ‘Kimba Town Tourist Walk’ and an impressive mural across its local wheat silos. The town is also known for being halfway between Sydney and Perth.

The challenge
Kimba District Council was using software that had become inflexible and was lacking in functionality, driving Council to tender for a viable enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.

The solution
Kimba District Council purchased and implemented the MAGIQ Cloud Platform.

The MAGIQ Cloud Platform is a native Cloud, Software as a Service (SaaS) public administration platform designed to meet Council’s financial and legislative requirements within a simple, easy to use Cloud environment.

According to Deb Larwood, Chief Executive Officer at Kimba District Council, “When we began the tender process, we hadn’t considered a Cloud-based solution.

“MAGIQ Software’s Cloud offering was an exceptional, standout option and the software was readily available.”

The benefits
“In the past our purchase order and service request processes were paper based, entailing multiple transactions and lengthy processing times with plenty of room for errors.

“Since implementing the MAGIQ Cloud we complete such tasks online and the whole process is streamlined – saving paper handling and allowing the organisation to keep track of everything and not have to re-enter data.

“The MAGIQ Cloud has allowed Council employees to work, connect and collaborate the way they want to – at any time, from anywhere and on any device – increasing productivity and enabling operational efficiencies.”

Since Kimba’s implementation, another six South Australian Local Government organisations have purchased the MAGIQ Cloud.
Each Council benefits from MAGIQ Software’s fully integrated ERP solution which includes finance, regulatory, rates, payroll, human resources, online, mobile, budgeting, reporting and document management modules.

MAGIQ Cloud Platform growth
The MAGIQ Cloud Platform is designed for Local Government and is ideal for Councils seeking to modernise and move their Corporate Systems from on-premise to native Cloud in a secure, swift and affordable fashion.

The MAGIQ Cloud Platform has been deployed at the following South Australian Local Government organisations: District Council of Karoonda East Murray, Wudinna District Council, District Council of Streaky Bay, Peterborough District Council, Flinders Ranges Council, Outback Communities Authority and Kimba District Council.
