Seniors Week inspires the community

As part of Seniors Week 2015, Parramatta City Council will host a range of free events to provide seniors with the opportunity to engage with the community, express themselves and share unique stories and experiences.

Lord Mayor of Parramatta Cr Scott Lloyd, said the theme ‘Be Inspired’ encourages everyone to get involved in community activities, with a focus on activities that celebrate self-expression and creativity.

“Seniors Week provides an opportunity to thank our seniors and acknowledge the valuable contribution they make to our community.

“There will be a diverse range of activities on offer from art exhibitions and concerts to technology classes and golf tournaments.

“I encourage seniors to explore the variety of activities on offer.

“It’s a great chance to get involved in the community, try your hand at a new activity and meet new people.

“Our Council takes huge pride in providing services to assist seniors and give them the support they need to stay active and engaged in the community.

“Our programs include the Over 55’s Leisure and Learning Service, Meals on Wheels and the Neighbour Aid Program.”
