Social media has transformed the way that Local Government engages with communities and how we do business.
The third annual LGPro Social Media Conference is being held on 22 April 2015 will examine the changes that have occurred, how Local Government has met them and what trends we can expect in the future.
An organising committee made up of professionals working in the sector has been busy developing a program that is relevant to people working in Local Government.
Committee convenor, Jenni Bartlett said once again the conference will be very affordable and aimed at Local Government professionals. She said the success and positive feedback from the last two conferences encouraged the committee to make the event an annual one.
“The 2015 event will explore the social media transformation and how it has impacted upon Local Government culture, customer service, connecting and communicating with
our communities.
“The conference will again feature a keynote speaker, case studies, interactive sessions and have a greater emphasis on visual social media channels like Instagram and Pintrest. Other sessions will include content creation for social media and case studies around Twitter and social media command centres.”
The organising committee consists of Jenni Bartlett (Convenor, Mornington Peninsula), Steve Fuery (Bass Coast), Roger Hicks (Boroondara), Natasha Leary (Bendigo), Joanne Mulcahy (City of Yarra), Kirsty Thomas (Yarra Ranges) and Diana Pawluk (LG Pro).
