Making environmental law accessible and understandable*

Knowledge of the law is a valuable skill – but only if you can access it. The Law Handbook and The Environmental Law Handbook put knowledge of New South Wales law into the hands of the community.

The Environmental Law Handbook is essential for those working or interested in the area of environmental planning, protection and regulation in New South Wales.

It provides plain language coverage of all areas of environmental law and practice and explains how these regulate land use decisions.

The Law Handbook is a practical guide to everyday legal issues, such as disputes, employment issues, driving and traffic law and debt.

Both books are now published by Thomson Reuters, a long time supporter of Redfern Legal Centre.

Thomson Reuters and Redfern Legal Centre aim to make the law more accessible, especially to anyone with an interest in law, or people that need to know about the law in their everyday work, such as Local Government public officials, real estate agents and accountants.

“We are always looking to support the legal system at all levels,” said Chief Operating Officer at Thomson Reuters, Jackie Rhodes.

“Publishing the Handbooks lets us support non profit legal centres, give lawyers the opportunity to share their knowledge, and ensure the community benefits from this shared information.”

Thomson Reuters succeeds UNSW Press as the publisher of The Law Handbook and The Environmental Law Handbook, who had published the Handbooks since 2004.

Copies of the texts can be ordered direct from Thomson Reuters online at www.thomsonreuters.com.au or by phone on 1300 304 195.
