Brickbats & bouquets
I was interested while reading December’s Local Government Focus to read about the City of Salisbury on page 27, but was absolutely disgusted when reading the article to see the City of Salisbury has moved to ‘Western Australia’, surely when reporting on such a very important award won by the most progressive council in SOUTH AUSTRALIA the least you can do is ‘get the state right’.
I believe a correction should be included in the next LG Focus, at least correcting the mistake, and I suggest you contact our marketing department for more information about many of the other most recent awards our wonderful Council has received.
On a plus, I wish to congratulate you on the story on pages three, 12 & 14 about the Australian Local Government Women’s Association (ALGWA), Janet Davidson and the 50/50 Gender Equity award winners.
As the South Australian Branch President of ALGWA I appreciate the time taken to report on the National ALGWA conference. Each state also holds a conference and it may be of interest to contact the states for more information to include in upcoming LG Focus.
Thanks you for your time.
Cr Betty Gill JP
City of Salisbury, South Australia
President, SA Branch ALGWA
Editor’s note
LG Focus was quickly made aware of this unfortunate error in the December edition and we appreciate the letters we received drawing our attention to the oversight. As noted in the letter above, the City of Salisbury is, of course, in South Australia, not Western Australia as published.
