Following a comprehensive review of its garbage collection, Burwood Council decided to partly outsource the service.
Contractors will be hired for all domestic, trade and green waste collection, while ‘Be Tidy Bins’ and illegal dumping will remain inhouse.
This decision will improve the service to industry benchmark levels and is set to save Council $525,000 per year.
