Business enhancement with ‘Claremont NOW’

The recent opening of Stage 2 of the Claremont Quarter has delivered new opportunities for the entire business community. To help local businesses grow and prosper, the Town of Claremont is inviting people to rediscover Claremont.

Its ‘Claremont Now’ project aims to support and enhance the Town of Claremont shopping precinct. ‘Claremont Now’ is essentially the development and implementation of a community and economic development plan that will focus on initiatives to support and enhance the number of tourists and shoppers visiting the area.

This project involves the various stakeholders in the Town Centre and includes initiatives such as improved safety and amenities, special events, cooperative advertising and promotions.

Mayor Jock Barker strongly supports the Claremont NOW concept.

“The great thing about this idea is how it is good for the community while helping businesses grow stronger,” he said. “The ideas being discussed will make the Town Centre more active, safer and much more interesting.”

Each Saturday during February and March, Council organised various activities to add a vibrant atmosphere to the Claremont Town Centre.Activities have included musicians, face painters, balloon artists, an animal farm and a sand art activity. On 19 March, the Town Centre hosted Arty Brellas, a fun activity where children created their own colourful paper umbrella.
