Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) is the key professional association that provides a broad range of services to members of the parks and leisure industry.
Membership ranges across staff and management of parks, gardens, sports, aquatic and recreation centres, at Local and State Government levels, as well as students from tertiary institutions, academics, private consultants, private operators of facilities and many more.
The 2011 combined Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) national conference and International Federation of Parks and Recreation Administrators (IFPRA) Asia-Pacific Congress will be held in Fremantle, Western Australia, on 18 to 21 September. ‘Partnering’ has been chosen as the theme for the conference.
The conference has attracted a number of impressive international keynote speakers including Dr Matilda Annerstedt, Dr Derek Casey, Dr William Bird and Dr Cecil C. Konijnendijk.
Along with these international speakers there is a fantastic range of local presenters from across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

As well as an extensive conference program delegates also have the opportunity to choose from a range of technical tours, pre conference tours, and social events.
Delegates registering before 19 August are offered a special group rate, when three or more delegates from the same organisation register as a group, the third and subsequent delegates receive 25 per cent off their rate! This offer applies to both PLA members and non members.
