Horsham Rural City Council has introduced electronic mobile phone rostering for the Home and Community Care (HACC) department and its staff. The new HACC software package is a user friendly, cost effective and flexible application allowing Council to become more technologically advanced, therefore promoting the delivery of more effective care.
The new system will cut down on hours of manual office work, enabling a more efficient service to Council’s HACC clients and the 36 home carers who provide this very important service in the City.
Horsham Rural City is the first of 25 HACC councils in Victoria to implement the mobile phone electronic rostering program designed by Vada Computing, an Australian based company.
HACC Administration Officer Dianne Webster said after various planning and training sessions, all our Home Carers are now out in the field working with their mobile devices in client households.
The response from both carers and clients has been extremely positive.
“Home Carers are excited about the mobile devices and have quickly seen the benefits and efficiency of the new technology,” Dianne Webster said.”Adopting electronic rostering or e-rostering can produce significant cost savings, better compliance with regulations, accommodates employee requests and in turn leads to higher productivity.
“The administration process of preparing payroll every fortnight will also be less demanding on individuals and the payroll department.”
