Clock on for career creating wellbeing

People spend around a third of their lives at work – could that time also improve their health, and even happiness?

CQUniversity’s Workplace Wellbeing courses outline research-backed skills and processes to build healthy team environments, and develop careers helping people thrive at work.

The innovative new qualifications present practical ways to identify, manage, and remove psychosocial hazards in workplaces – that is, systems or cultures that cause stress, and could harm mental and physical health.

The Graduate Certificate of Workplace Wellbeing equips students to develop strengths and resilience for every workplace, while the Graduate Diploma explores drivers for systems and behaviour change.

Completing either course will fast-track progress in the Master of Workplace Wellbeing, a research-based opportunity to extend skills in designing, implementing and evaluating a workplace project or intervention.

The new courses complement CQU’s popular Positive Psychology qualifications, and CQU offers tailored options for organisations upskilling staff across both disciplines.

Dr Adam Gerace is Head of College for Psychology at CQUniversity, and said workplace wellbeing is transforming how people think about their careers.

“We’ve all seen how a problematic or toxic workplace can negatively impact our health and wellbeing, but research shows we can structure and shape working environments to actually promote psychological health,” he said.

“Students in these courses can transform their own careers, and how they lead and shape their workplaces, so everyone thrives.”

The courses equip graduates for new careers in occupational health and safety, human resource and business management, teaching, health care and clinical settings, and leadership roles across a wide variety of sectors.

All three courses are offered flexibly online, with part-time study options available.
