Financial planning for APS Local Government members*

After starting as a funeral fund for Melbourne postal workers in 1905, membership of APS Benefits today offers a wide range of financial services, such as mortuary benefits paid within 24 hours of notification and the Everyday Unsecured Loan or Special Purpose Loan. APS benefits can also offer over 800 finance products through more than 40 mortgage brokers in its Mortgage Broking Service.

Now all Local Government members can use APS Benefits Financial Planning. This is a new service. APS Benefits has employed a fully accredited financial planner. Do you have a wealth strategy? Do you have a superannuation strategy? Let APS Benefits Financial Planning help you secure your future.

Contact APS Benefits on toll free 1300 131 809 and make sure your current finance is competitive.

What isn’t widely known is that all contractors to Local Government are also eligible to join APS Benefits and take advantage of all benefits, as well as employees and contractors to Registered Charities and Volunteer organizations, such as the SES and CFA. Spouses, siblings, parents and children of members who are aged 16 and above are also encouraged to join the society.

APS Benefits has over 24,500 members around Australia with assets over $56 million. The society released a Special Purpose Loan facility in 2005 that has loaned members over $1.38 million. Members with reasonable equity in their homes can apply for a loan of up to $30,000 for a special purpose, such as property renovation, a holiday, car purchase or an approved investment.

When you become a member of APS Benefits, you will automatically be entitled to a funeral benefit issued by APS Benefits. There is a Combined Financial Services Guide and Product Disclosure Statement for the funeral benefit, which can be obtained from www.apsbs.com.au

You should consider that document and whether the funeral benefit is appropriate for you, before deciding whether to become or remain a member of APS Benefits.

For membership, loans or other information, log onto the APS Benefits web site at www.apsbs.com.au and download the Membership Application Form and Loan Applications or call APS Benefits toll free 1300 131 809.
