Assisting councils with roads management *

Two of Australia’s leading asset management service providers, Moloney Systems and Pitt & Sherry, have joined forces to produce a practical and affordable software package to help Councils meet their road management obligations.

RoadAsyst Maintenance & Inspection Module (MIM) provides an effective risk based means of prioritising road defect maintenance and supports a multi-user environment with definable security to protect the data and system operation. The 2004 Road Management Bill requires road authorities to show that they are proactively and reactively inspecting road assets, recording defects and prioritising their repair according to risk.

Moloney Systems and Pitt & Sherry build on the relationship with users by holding user group meetings as required. At a recent user group meeting Norm Cook from the Benalla Rural City said that RoadAsyst is very secure.

“Information cannot be edited by anyone”, Norm Cook said. “It is easy to use and easy to audit. RoadAsyst has the potential for growth in to different modules.” Dave Birkett from Horsham Rural City agreed.

“RoadAsyst is very well presented, it looks good”, Dave Birkett said. “It satisfies our needs for intervention with roads and is most economical.” Inspection schedules can be created in RoadAsyst MIM for inspection of reported defects or as recurring schedules. The program also enables the user to check roads that have not yet been scheduled so that roads are not overlooked.

RoadAsyst MIM has been designed specifically for roads, therefore, all the thinking has been done for the user and there is no need to adapt the software.

The RoadAsyst MIM package is competitively priced at $7,000 excluding GST. A demonstration CD can be posted to you by contacting Phoebe Goldsmith at Pitt & Sherry on (03) 9682 5290 or www.moloneysystems.com.au
