Casey ARC makes a splash

The Casey ARC is the region’s premier aquatic and recreation centre. Since opening in September 2001, thousands of residents have enjoyed its state of the art features. It also exceeded expectations, delivering strong financial returns well ahead of schedule.

The $17.4 million facility, completed in just 17 months, is an outstanding example of the results and community benefit that can derive from successful partnerships with other spheres of government and the private sector.

Council staff worked closely with the Department of Sport and Recreation from the initial approval of $5 million in State Government funding, to the appointment of the centre’s managers, the YMCA, through to the completion of building works.

Casey ARC features one of Victoria’s largest wave pools, an interactive toddlers’ pool with giant frog slide, an upper level gymnasium with the latest equipment, weights training room and multipurpose room.
