Library design a winner

Library patrons at Bacchus Marsh and Ballan can now purchase a special library bag, with a design by Kristee Trasks, 17, from Bacchus Marsh.

Kristee’s design was chosen as the winning design in Moorabool Shire Library Services’ library bag design competition.

The competition, open to people aged 12 to 25, was judged by Moorabool Mayor Pat Toohey.

Kristee’s leaf design has been printed onto sturdy white tote bags, which can be purchased for $2 from the Lerderderg and Ballan libraries. Anyone using the Rural Library Mobile Service will receive a bag for free.

Kristee said she was delighted with her win, and the $150 Collins book voucher prize.

“It was excellent to hear my design would be used on the library bags.”

Councillor Toohey said Kristee’s design reflected the Shire’s affinity with nature and vast areas of bushland and state forest.

“The leaf design was simple but very attractive and with the Council and Lerderderg logos on it, it has come up very well.”
