HarvestRoad & commerce@work join forces

Innovative Australian e-commerce solution supplier, commerce@work, has announced that it is now a preferred Local Government channel to market HarvestRoad’s WebPOWER products, for online document publishing, document management, e-commerce, and creation of websites and portals.

HarvestRoad has successfully delivered solutions to various Australian government agencies, Telecom New Zealand, Solution 6 and connect.com.au and is an Australian Government Endorsed Supplier. commerce@work currently provides a range of e-commerce services, specialising in b2b (business to business) and electronic service delivery for all levels of government.

The vanguard service in the Local Government area for commerce@work is e-council, which delivers Council, business and community wide e-commerce services.

commerce@work is currently delivering services to a number of Councils Australia wide. With over 12 years of e-commerce experience, commerce@work, has a policy of entering into strategic alliances with leading service providers in the various specialist areas of e-commerce.

“In this way we bring to our customers state of the art products,” said Alleyne Ski, commerce@work Director of Sales and Marketing. “Products that over the years will be capably supported and remain leading edge technology.”

HarvestRoad believes that web portals are the information hubs of the knowledge economy and that every business and virtual organisation wants control over their information and services.

As part of this digital content evolution the application service provider environment will allow the replacement of applications on the desktop/laptop. This provides everyone with ubiquitous access to their personal space – on a networked basis – and can enable any authorised person to become a creator and publisher of digital information to the web.

This is reflected in commerce@work’s e-council service where any authorised Council officer can publish information on the web through a community based web portal.

Designed and developed in cooperation with Burnie City Council, the e-council web portal facilitates a Council’s visibility and interaction with its community.

Through the portal, Councils can conduct core business like accepting development applications and issuing determinations, as well as receiving and processing planning, property, rates or other certificates. Rate notices can be issued and payments received over the portal. Tenders can be called, received into a locked tender box and the evaluation managed.

The portal can be used to publish public notices, strategic plans, and Council meeting minutes. In fact, any Council process for interaction with its community can be managed through the e-council web portal.

According to Graeme Barty, Managing Director of HarvestRoad, there is considerable synergy in the focus of the two companies.

“The alliance with commerce@work is an outstanding indication of HarvestRoad’s WebPOWER ability to deliver high end web publishing and portal management capability in the creation and sustaining of virtual communities across the nation using the Application Service Provider model,” he said. “commerce@work are leading e-commerce experts in the needs of Australian Local Government and have established an excellent reputation in this market space. We are excited at the potential this offers us all.”
