Access Expo 99*

To be staged on 21-23 October 1999 at the magnificent Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, Access Expo 99 will provide a unique forum for the disability and aged care industry.

Healthcare professionals, healthcare facility managers, people with disabilities, community service and government agencies, older persons, carers and welfare organisations all look to Access Expo 99 as an invaluable resource of up to date information on products and services currently available within the disability and aged care field.

Access Expo 99 is a proud partner of the Australian Coalition 99-Victoria, an event celebrating the UN International Year of Older Persons. Visitors to Access Expo 99 will benefit from the opportunity to speak directly with manufacturers, suppliers and agency representatives on the very latest in industry developments.

Exhibitors from as far afield as France, USA, and Japan will display a wide range of products and equipment to help maximise personal independence, health and access. Products include adapted recreation equipment, mobility aids, independent living aids, furniture, home modifications, access equipment, communication aids and many more.

Representatives from many organisations within the disability and aged care industry will be available to offer advice and discuss concerns on issues relating to service provision, personal care, building access, daily living requirements, mobility needs, health and fitness, leisure pursuits and employment.

Interactive demonstrations will be conducted daily and will feature adapted recreation equipment and fun leisure activities such as yoga, orienteering, wheelchair basketball, table tennis and much more.

Professional Development Seminars will provide an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals from the disability and aged care field to update their knowledge and network with peers. Presented by panels of experts, all seminars will provide practical information and stimulate discussion on current issues affecting disability and aged care management.

Topics include the following.

  • Sexuality: A human right for all consenting adults
  • A Question of Access
  • The Future of Community Care
  • Access & Inclusion for Children of all Abilities
