Internet age solutions

While it is essential for corporate Australia to adopt web related business strategies there is no need to spend substantial amounts on new financial systems or eliminate existing technology, according to Malachy Smith CEO of QSP Group Global Headquarters (UK).

“It is important for business to realise that they can integrate e-business solutions into existing technology,” he said.

“An organisation’s key criteria should be to ensure system integration, real time delivery, efficiency, cost effectiveness and accountability.”

He said QSP’s web based software offers e-solutions that are scalable, flexible and run on Mainframe Unix and Windows NT and can be added to existing systems without eliminating existing technology.

Used in over 40 Councils in the UK, the first Council to introduce QSP software in Australia is Victoria’s City of Moreland.

“The system will go live in July,” Malachy Smith said.

“It will radically bring Moreland’s technology into the Internet age.”

Council’s Director Corporate Development, Gina Lyons, said it was important to position Moreland at the forefront of technology and introduce an e-finance management solution.

She said she chose the QSP Group solution for a number of reasons.

“Firstly, its unique range of new web enabled financial solutions provided unparalleled business benefits,” she said.

“Secondly, their proven track record, since 1981 for implementing and delivering enterprise wide financial systems for blue chip companies and public sector organisations in over 20 countries.”

She said the system would enable significant time savings to bring about an almost immediate return on their investment, thus generating time for value added activities.

It will also save preparation time spent on the budgeting and forecasting process,

“The Management Information process will evolve from an end of the month service to business self service, where managers have online access to real time financial information,” Gina Lyons said.
