Commonwealth assistance for local projects 2001-02 only a phone call away

Roads, Council activities, telecommunications, business, the arts and the environment, the Federal Government provides support to these aspects of community life and a range of others. The latest edition of Commonwealth Assistance for Local Projects, printed earlier this year, is now available to those wanting programme information at hand while they are helping to maintain and improve their communities.

The book is a useful directory for Local Government and community organisations as it details many Federal Government programmes and services available to support community projects and activities.

Commonwealth Assistance for Local Projects has already been sent to mayors, Council CEOs and Area Consultative Committees across urban and regional Australia, as well as several other key organisations. You can secure your copy by telephoning the Commonwealth Regional Information Service on 1800 026 222. You will also find it on the internet at www.dotars. gov.au/regional/pub/index.htm

Remember too that GRANTSLINK is another useful source of information for communities. It is an innovative website providing straightforward access to information about Federal Government funding programmes through a single site.

Visit www.grantslink. gov.au Enquirers visiting the site do not need to know which government departments offer the funding — they can search for grant programmes based on the project in mind.
