Australia’s Red Centre
You’ll never never know if you never never go

You’ll never never know if you never never go

Alice Springs with its perfect sunny days and famous blue skies is the ideal base to spend some time when in the Centre. Alice Springs has easy access to a vast, mysterious land that holds a special place in the history and culture of our country. This region holds not only one of the most culturally significant icons of Aboriginal and Australian culture, Uluru (Ayers Rock); it holds onto the true Outback spirit.

With 2002 being the Year of the Outback, there has never been a better time to experience all the wonder and the magic of one of the world’s most unspoilt environments. When you get back home you will feel that somehow, in some small way, the Central Australian spirit has touched your soul. You will have done things you have never done before. Seen things that were more amazing than any photograph you have ever seen, and met fascinating people from a very different culture.

Central Australia is unique. Whether it is swimming in a waterhole, driving a 4×4 across the reddest sands you have ever seen or discovering ancient aboriginal rock paintings, the Centre offers a vast range of unique places and activities designed for adventure, escape and relaxation.

There are spectacular canyons and gorges for walking; hundreds of varieties of fauna and flora; skyscrapers made of rock, not steel; mountainous ranges and breathtaking chasms. Everywhere you go you come across the richness of our nation’s history – the Overland Telegraph, the Flying Doctor, School of the Air, the romance of a town like Alice, the diverse cultures and above all, there is the people, the Territorians.

They are a diverse and colourful blend of cultures mixed with a true pioneering spirit; a friendly, open, fun loving community that welcomes visitors from every corner of the globe.

Central Australia is waiting to welcome you right now. No matter how long you spend in Australia’s real Outback it will be an experience you will never forget. But, as they say, you’ll never never know if you never never go. For further information contact the NT Tourism Commission on (08) 8952 5199.
