5th Annual IT Conference in Coffs Harbour

5th Annual IT Conference in Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour City Council is hosting the 5th Local Government IT Conference and Trade Exhibit on 20 – 22 November 2002 at Novotel Opal Cove Resort.

This year’s program will reflect the theme ‘Navigating a Secure Course’.

The implementation of new technology, security, viruses and increasing exposure to the ‘elements’ of the web are obstacles that need to be negotiated daily. IT2002 promises to deliver the IT Manager all the latest skills and technologies necessary to simplify this task and allow smooth sailing ahead.

IT2002 will provide an invaluable opportunity for Local Government IT decision makers and IT professionals from private and other government agencies to network in an environment that promotes lateral thinking, problem solving and inspirational idea generation.

Featuring a quality trade exhibition, delegates will see the latest in software, hardware and management solutions and have the chance to discuss their organisation’s specific needs with IT specialists.

Gold sponsors include Microsoft, Telstra Country Wide and Trilogy Computer Systems Australasia. There are several silver and bronze sponsorships available, but places are rapidly filling.

In keeping with the theme, the keynote speaker is solo ‘round the world’ yachtsman, Tony Mowbray, with a presentation on ‘The Power of Commitment’. Check out Tony’s details at www.publicspeaker.com.au. Other guest speakers include management consultant, John Umansky, back by popular demand. The program will also include case studies from a number of Councils that have implemented successful IT strategies.

For further information on the conference, contact the conference coordinator Michelle Crawley on (02) 6648 4458, email it2002@chcc.nsw.gov.au or visit the web site at www.chcc.nsw.gov.au/it2002.htm
