AXS-One strengthens position

14th Council signs for AXS-One Financial and e-Business Solutions

The City of Ballarat recently signed an agreement to implement AXS-One’s total financial and e-business system. The solution which replaces their Oracle financials comprises the full AXS-One Financial Suite, AXS-One Enterprise, as well as business process automation solutions in the areas of expense and budget cycle management.

e-Business components include procurement, partner and vendor management.

Corporate performance management through AXS OneView brings together all Council information from any system regardless of vendor or platform, into a common portal for complete analysis, reporting and information management.

AXSPoint Central provides archival and content management technology.

“AXS-One was selected as meeting all of our Council needs, not only as a replacement system but to add significant new functionality to improve processes and add efficiencies,” said Alan Hall, Director Finance, Ballarat City Council. “This will result in improved system compliance and timeliness of information.

“Other factors influencing our decision were the flexibility of the chart of accounts and strong flexible reporting. Equally, the professionalism of AXS-One suggests that the implementation will be as smooth as possible.”

The new system is scheduled to be operational on 1 July 2003. This tight timeframe is achievable given AXS-One’s reputation for on time, on budget implementations, as well as the commitment and cooperation between AXS-One and the City of Ballarat teams.

“I am very pleased to welcome Ballarat City Council to the growing number of Councils already realising significant business benefits through the use of AXS-One software,” said David Thompson, Vice President Asia Pacific, AXS-One. “AXS-One’s selection from such a large field of contenders once again reinforces our strength in the Local Government marketplace.”
