The Department of Transport and Regional Services has recently developed a Statement of Commitment to Indigenous Peoples.
Launched in NAIDOC Week by the Department Secretary, Ken Matthews, the Statement outlines the Department’s approach to working with Indigenous peoples and communities within the framework of its Departmental responsibilities. It is intended as a guide for all Departmental staff, and will also be distributed to other Australian Government agencies with an interest in Indigenous issues.
