Popular fishing spots include the Murray River, Loddon River, Lake Charm, Gunbower Creek and Kangaroo Lake.

Watersports are a popular pastime with hundreds flocking to the Gunbower Creek, Lake Charm and Kangaroo Lake. These water skiing venues provide many activities and Lake Charm north of Kerang has recently hosted the Victorian Ski Racing Titles.

The Gannawarra Wetlands include Reedy and Middle Lake. Middle Lake is a RAMSAR listed wetland and home to thousands of ibis. Other waterbirds abound including herons, kites, sea eagles, coots, spoonbill and wild ducks.
