Travelling to Tamar Valley on the web

If you are considering travelling to Tasmania, planning for the journey may be a little easier when you visit the Tamar Valley with a new tourism web site for the region.

Last year the Tamar Tourism web site won the Local Government of Tasmania Award for Excellence in Information Technology. The site offers touring suggestions for the region and travelling distances between towns, as well as a comprehensive restaurant listing.

Tamar’s Tourism Development Officer, Karolyn Sikkema, and Information Systems Officer, Mark Dabner, along with Craig Perkins who is an Economic Development Officer at neighbouring George Town Council developed the site.

One feature that is particularly popular is the electronic postcard that can be sent from the site.
