Blue Circle Ash

Leading the industry in environmental products

Blue Circle Ash is leading the way in developing environmentally friendly products for use in the construction industry. Blue Circle Ash has produced a variety of graded ash products, known as Envir-O-Agg, which is the coarse by-product from coal fired power stations.

Envir-O-Agg is collected and processed into a variety of sand and aggregates to suit the various needs of the construction industry. It is 100 per cent recycled and meets the New South Wales EPA guidelines as inert waste, making it suitable for residential areas.

Envir-O-Agg is a sound construction material and can be used in many diverse applications, such as pipe bedding, general and select fill, slab fill, sub grade replacement, retaining wall backfill and turf top soil. Its main benefits include that it is lightweight and easy to use, has exceptional drainage properties, is cost effective and has unique bridging qualities, resulting in fewer collapsed trenches.

The value of Envir-O-Agg is highlighted by Les Kirwan, a Project Engineer with the Central Coast based contracting company Bolte Civil.

“Having used the Blue Circle Ash Envir-O-Agg product over several years, we can attest to its high quality,” Les Kirwan. “This lightweight material is incredibly easy to work with, has excellent drainage characteristics and bridges wonderfully. I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a cost effective sub grade or select fill alternative.”

Blue Circle Ash has three locations from which material can be sourced, Vales Point on the Central Coast, Eraring near Lake Macquarie or the new Bayswater operation near Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley.
