UQ Business School has great public sector credentials*

With former State Premier Wayne Goss,and former Auditor General Len Scanlan, as Adjunct Professors, UQ Business School has great public sector credentials. Full time academics teaching Public Sector Management include Professor Ken Wiltshire, whose appointments include the Executive Board of Unesco, the Commonwealth Grants Commission, and the conduct of many Inquiries into Local Government finance effectiveness and efficiency. He is a recognised international expert in intergovernmental relations. Also on staff is Dr David Gow, who was Director of the Centre for Public Administration before the formation of UQ Business School. Dr Gow has recently been appointed to the CMC. His expertise includes public policy and entrepreneurial management.

Dr Patty Renfrow is an authority on human resource management. Her research has focused on government Senior Executive Services in several countries, and recent reforms to the design and management of the Australian Public Service. Dr Renfrow is the Vice President of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (Queensland) and chairs its Intellectual and Professional Development Committee. She also serves on the editorial board of its quarterly magazine, The Public Interest. Dr Bill De Maria brings his international reputation in public sector and business ethics to the School. He is often called on to consult with parliamentary committees.

The MBA program also scored five stars from the Graduate Management Association of Australia in the most recent Good Universities Guide.
