Practical pavement studies delivered to your desk*

Local Government technical staff must keep up to date with advances in the design, construction and maintenance of road pavements. The Centre for Pavement Engineering Education (CPEE) is currently accepting applications for the Graduate Certificate of Pavement Technology and Master of Pavement Technology for study period one in 2007. The courses, which are very practical, encourage direct application of the skills and knowledge acquired. The application of learnings to problems in the workplace is facilitated by the distance education format which does not entail attendance at a university. There is no requirement for candidates to attend face to face sessions.

The four unit Graduate Certificate in Pavement Technology and eight unit Master of Pavement Technology can be tailored to suit the needs of individuals wishing to update their knowledge or to become more productive in the workplace.

Don’t stand still – pavement training at its best

The Australian Asphalt Pavement Association’s (AAPA) training courses are regarded as the “best in the business”, delivered by the experts in the industry. Nationally recognised courses in asphalt, spray sealing, polymer modified binders, pavement maintenance, safety and so forth can also be customised to your specific requirements. Training courses are conducted throughout Australia each year in the capital cities, regional centres and “on request”.

The 2006 national training program is posted on the AAPA website at www.aapa.asn.au and details of each training course are available for perusal. The 2007 program will be finalised later this year.
