Futuristic’ new version next from Aurion*

At its inaugural User Conference on Queensland’s Gold Coast last October, Brisbane based Human Resource Management provider, Aurion, previewed upcoming changes and enhancements to its Version 10.

“We demonstrated some exciting new software features – a new look Self Service, a sophisticated HR Statistics Report and a modelling facility for organisation restructuring,” said Aurion Managing Director, Silvano Basso. “The delegate feedback was very positive.

“The HR Statistics Report is the first step towards our HR Dashboard and provides a tabular presentation of some key indicators such as absenteeism and turnover. It is available online to managers through Self Service. The organisation restructuring facility uses drag and drop to model and implement changes to clients’ businesses’ structure. Aurion also keeps a history of changes to simplify reporting.”

Silvano Basso also commented on quotes from the conference feedback questionnaire, saying that the delegates “really got it” when they saw the planned enhancements and changes to the software.

National Sales and Marketing Manager, Paul MacRae, said recent groundswell changes in customer demand included calls for service orientated architecture rather than client/server, and more web enablement.

“Part of this is return on investment pressures from management, but mostly it’s about delivering software that works the way the customer works, or more significantly, how they want to work in the future,” Paul MacRae said. “By the time we release Aurion 10, which is our next major release, we will have a Uniface business logic back end, a Java Script front end and Aurion will be fully web enabled and even more configurable than it is at present.”

Paul MacRae said that much work had been done to understand how individual customer or industry businesses operated.

“How they create and manage data and information; how they implement change and how they explain and distribute information to their staff,” he said. “We’re also making it easy to manipulate ‘teams’ data where individuals move between teams and require different managers to approve their timesheets. As part of that enhancement process, it will be easier for supervisors to swap employee shifts and to construct management reports that reflect these changes.”
