CJD Volvo MATRIS When information is king*

How much do you really know about the condition of your construction equipment? Is it operating in a way that makes it the productive asset you need it to be? The answer to the first question is more than likely, “Not enough.” And if that’s the case, then the answer to the second question is probably, “No.”

That’s where MATRIS, Volvo’s unique Machine Information Tracking System can help. It’s an invaluable tool that has proved to be the key to lower operating costs, higher productivity and a longer service life for Volvo construction equipment.

MATRIS is a software program that downloads the data from your machine’s Contronic system then analyses and presents it in an easily understood format so that you can recognise existing or past conditions, which may be preventing you from getting the most out of your investment.

This isn’t simply a snapshot of a machine’s condition. It’s an analysis of the information that is continuously recorded by the machine’s electronic control unit then transferred to a laptop computer by a simple connection link inside the cab.

The system records as many as 28 different functions related to general, engine, transmission, axles and hydraulic characteristics.

The beauty of this very clever system is that you don’t need a PhD in electronics to interpret it or to benefit from it. All information is presented in tables; circle and bar diagrams and the graphics are colour coded for easy identification.

For example, green colour indicates correct use; blue indicates that the machine has been operated at a temperature that’s lower than optimal. Yellow is a warning and red is an alarm that indicates when the machine is too warm or if it is been operated incorrectly.

To find out more about MATRIS or to have a demonstration, call your local CJD Equipment branch on 1300 139 804 and ask to speak to the Product Support Manager for your region.
