Who is Infor?

Hansen International Technologies and GEAC Computer Corporation are now part of enterprise software provider, Infor.

Hansen and GEAC have joined the stable of solutions from Infor, which is the world’s third largest enterprise software vendor, with more than 70,000 customers and 9,200 staff worldwide. They are now part of Infor’s Public Sector Group, which has 1,635 customers and
375 staff in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

Bruce Gheesling, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Infor’s Public Sector Group, said that after the dot com bubble burst in 2001, large horizontal providers emerged dictating to clients ‘a one size fits all’ solution.

“Organisations didn’t want this so they sought out niche providers,’” Bruce Gheesling said. “The problem with this is that many of the niche companies do not have the scale to be there for the long term.”

Infor is a Golden Gate company. Golden Gate Capital is a leading private equity firm with more than $2.6 billion in capital under management. Under Infor, with both its scale and industry experience, clients can be assured of solutions to best fit their needs that will be there for the long term. He said that Councils in Australia are very familiar with Hansen or GEAC’s solutions. Many are current clients, with 13 Councils using both GEAC and Hansen.

“There will be no forced migrations from current solutions clients are using but Councils will now have the one Infor rep who will be across both the Hansen and GEAC solutions, as well as additional solutions from Infor,” Bruce Gheesling said. “Our strategy is to be totally customer friendly. Our business is based on understanding how the public sector works and providing solutions that will best meet an organisation’s current and future needs.

“Our Public Sector Group is segmented from the rest of Infor as we fully understand that public sector organisations differ markedly from commercial enterprises.”

He said that Infor is committed to market leadership and in bringing Hansen and GEAC under the one roof, users will benefit immediately from a much wider range of solutions on offer.

The transition for Council clients to have the one Infor rep dealing with Hansen, GEAC and Infor solutions commenced on 1 June and is now well under way.
