Entries now open for the 2008 Australasian Reporting Awards

Receive recognition for effective communication of financial and business information by entering the 2008 Australasian Reporting Awards.

Annual reports are benchmarked against world best practice criteria. Those that satisfy the criteria receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award. A new Special Award for Electronic (Online) Reporting has been introduced for 2008. It will recognise the special nature of the electronic medium and the different ways information may be presented and accessed online.

Recent Federal Government legislation will now allow organisations to report online and only provide hard copies of their report on request.

Organisations can enter in the General Awards category, which has ten divisions, and in the Special Awards categories of Sustainability; Governance; Occupational Health and Safety; Communication; Knowledge Capital Reporting; and Electronic (Online). All entrants can arrange to receive constructive feedback from an adjudicator.

In 2007 Local Government Gold Award winners included Brimbank City Council; Caboolture Shire Council; City of Melbourne; Gold Coast City Council; Hume City Council; and Wollongong City Council.

The 2008 ARA criteria are available on the website. The ARA also has entry and payment online for the 2008 Awards. Entries close on
31 January 2008 and the Gala Awards Presentation Dinner will be held in Sydney on 5 June 2008. A Seminar on Reporting is held the following day.

The awards are a not for profit activity strongly supported by the major professional associations CPA Australia and Chartered Secretaries Australia.

For further information about the awards visit www.arawards.com.au or contact ARA on (02) 9241 1240 or ara@arawards.com.au
