Creating a healthy economy, environment, community and organisation

Moonee Valley has long been a prime location to live, work and play. It is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, with easy access to the major airports, railway lines, ports and freeways. Bounded by the Maribyrnong River along the south and Moonee Ponds Creek along the northeast, Moonee Valley encompasses an area of 44 square kilometres, covering the following suburbs: Airport West, Avondale Heights, Niddrie, East Keilor, Strathmore, Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale, Kensington, Flemington and North Melbourne.

Known for its tree lined streets and heritage buildings, Moonee Valley has a culturally rich community, with a valued history and natural environment within its diverse suburbs.

Waterways are a key feature, linking major parks and open spaces across the City. The Maribyrnong River Valley is important to Melbourne once again, with restaurants, boats, walking and bike trails bringing people back to the river. Numerous parks contribute to the City’s green landscape, and waterside areas provide fantastic views and recreational points for residents.
