Not for profit financial services for LG staff*

As a member of Local Government, you and your family are eligible to join the Australian Public Service Benevolent Society (APS Benefits).

APS Benefits has been providing not for profit services to its growing membership for over 102 years and now has over 24,500 members. Members greatly appreciate being able to access a wide range of services on a
not for profit basis and from a secure and trusted source. APS saves them money with its low/no fee services and any profits made stay with members as they are shareholders.

One membership service offered is a funeral benefit for life. Membership subscriptions can be payable by allotment for both the member and their partner and funeral benefits are paid within 24 hours of notification, thus providing peace of mind at a time of need.

Unsecured loans also assist members in paying out their credit cards and other high interest loans. APS has low interest rates, 24 hour loan approval and no fees, no appointments and no queues.

A free mortgage broking service assists members in finding the cheapest home loans. APS uses over 40 lenders offering over 700 products and it does all the paperwork and research for members.

APS Financial Planning also offers financial planning at a not for profit price.** Benefits include access to APS’s Financial Planner, a free telephone financial information help desk for all financial questions, retirement planning, superannuation and investment advice, as well as death, disability, trauma and income protection insurance.

APS Sales and Marketing Manager, Roger Gerny, said the APS family is renowned for its strong customer service.

“Our members know that they can call us for anything financial and we’ll either help them ourselves or point them to another trusted provider,” he said.

“Any of the friendly APS team would be pleased to assist you in meeting your life needs or provide you with further information, flyers, membership forms and so forth.”
