Some of Australia’s most powerful women will convene in Sydney on 20 and 21 November for Going Public 2008 – a benchmark national conference for elected representatives and women working in the public sector and government at Local, State and Federal levels.
Now in its fourth year, Going Public will showcase a range of leading women speaking on topics from running a State to gender relations, mental health issues in the workplace and maternity leave.
Speakers include New South Wales Minister for Women, Verity Firth, who will provide the opening address, and former West Australian Premier, Carmen Lawrence, who will share some insights into her life as a politician, and how she handled the dramatic changes her career delivered.
Broadcaster Fran Kelly, from ABC Radio National’s Breakfast program, is the moderator for Going Public.
The two day conference, which provides a unique learning and networking environment, is expected to attract more than 200 women from across Australia, and will be held at the Amora Hotel Jamison, Sydney.
