Australia’s best known motorsport commentator, Neil Crompton, has taken up a role as the public face of Boylan Traffic Solutions. The race driver and Channel 7 broadcaster has been a friend of BTS managing director, Peter Boylan, for many years. In fact, Peter gave Neil Crompton’s career a kick start in the early 1990s when, dogged by a bout of glandular fever, he offered Neil his Formula Brabham car to drive. Crompton finished second in the championship – his first major success in a career that went on to stellar heights.
The pair has joined forces once again to form Team Safety – the public face of BTS’s commitment to industry excellence.
Peter Boylan said that motorsport identities are in a unique position to promote the road safety message.
“Former Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is part of a lobby group that was successful in pushing for the first ever UN debate on road safety held earlier this year,” he said.
Peter Boylan has long had an interest in safety practices, following a 30 year career in performance car racing. Both in his professional and personal life – like Neil Crompton, he was a close friend of the late Peter Brock – he has witnessed the heartbreak of accidental death.
“I’ve been to too many funerals where I’ve been left with the thought that maybe something could have been done to prevent it,’’ Peter Boylan said. “It’s why
