StreetScene asset patrol to assist in City upkeep

This month, the City of Stirling in metropolitan Perth is embarking on a new ‘StreetScene’ process to inspect assets within the city. The process will initially focus on the City’s two key tourism precincts of Scarborough and Beaufort Street.

Stirling Mayor Councillor David Boothman said that as part of the new process, asset inspectors will patrol these areas initially on a weekly basis and report on maintenance issues that may be required.

“The inspectors will pay particular attention to the safety, operational effectiveness and appearance of each asset,” he said. “They will then monitor works to ensure that they are completed.”

In addition, the officers will record any concerns or maintenance issues raised by local business owners and members of the public on site.

Mayor Boothman said the City is proud to be proactive in its approach to maintaining its assets and working to make the City a safer, more effective and more attractive place to work, live and visit.
